A scheming woman named Jenny tries to marry a rich timber baron and convinces his son to arrange his fathers death, but both men end up dying and Jennys deceitful ways catch up with her in the end. The Strange Woman is a 1946 American English-language Drama Film-Noir film featuring Hedy Lamarr, George Sanders, Louis Hayward, Gene Lockhart, Hillary Brooke, Rhys Williams and Johnny Kern. The movie is inspired from The Strange Woman 1941 novel by Ben Ames Williams. Hunt Stromberg Productions in association with Mars Film Corporation. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Jack Chertok and Eugen Sch Fftan. The Strange Woman is written by Hunt Stromberg and Edgar G. Ulmer and it is directed by Edgar G. Ulmer. United Artists acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. The Strange Woman was released on 25th October 1946 and takes a screen time of 100 minutes. The Strange Woman was made on a budget of $40 million and at the box office it grossed only $11 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Herb Meadow. Cinematography was done by Lucien N. Andriot and editing by John M. Foley and Richard G. Wray. The music was composed by Carmen Dragon.
