The Spy Gone North

In 1993, former military officer Suk-young Park is recruited as a spy by South Korea s National Intelligence Service, and given the code name Black Venus. He is then sent to infiltrate a group of high-ranking North Korean officials based in Beijing, with the ultimate goal of acquiring information on the North s nuclear program. After becoming close to Myong-un Ri, a key power broker, Black Venus succeeds beyond his wildest dreams of gaining the trust of North Korea s leadership. But political machinations on both sides of the border threaten to derail his accomplishments. Written by CJ Entertainment The Spy Gone North is a 2018 Korean Korean -language Drama film starring Hwang Jung-min, Lee Sung-min, Cho Jin-woong, Ju Ji-hoon, Sung-min Lee, Jin-woong Jo and Dae-yeol Yoon. Sanai Pictures in association with Moonlight Film. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Kuk Su-ran, Han Jae-duk and Son Sang-bum. The Spy Gone North is written by Kwon Sung-hwi and Yoon Jong-bin and it is directed by Yoon Jong-bin. CJ E&M acquired the distribution rights for the movie. The Spy Gone North was released on 6th September 2018 in Korean,Mandarin and Japanese languages and takes a screen time of 137 minutes. Cinematography was done by Choi Chan-min and editing by Kim Sang-bum and Kim Jae-bum. The music was composed by Cho Young-wuk.
