A solitary huntsman on a mountain reluctantly marries a sick woman who dies giving birth, but later accepts another woman offered by her father, only to realize her husband is a brutal rapist; after an unsuccessful attempt to escape, she miscarries and leaves, leaving him alone and sorrowful in an empty house.
