A hospice nurse working at a spooky New Orleans plantation home finds herself entangled in a mystery involving the house s dark past. The Skeleton Key is a 2005 American English-language Horror Mystery motion picture featuring Kate Hudson, Gena Rowlands, Peter Sarsgaard, Joy Bryant, John Hurt, Maxine Barnett and Michael Wozniak. Shadowcatcher Entertainment in association with Double Feature Films. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Michael Shamberg, Stacey Sher, Iain Softley and Daniel Bobker. The Skeleton Key is written by Ehren Kruger and directed by Iain Softley. Universal Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. The Skeleton Key was released on 13th October 2005 and takes a screen time of 104 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. The Skeleton Key was made on a budget of $43 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $93 million. Cinematography was done by Dan Mindel and editing by Joe Hutshing. The music was composed by Edward Shearmur.
