The movie is inspired from The Sentinel by Gerald Petievich. Regency Enterprises in association with Furthur Films, New Regency Productions and Dune Entertainment. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Michael Douglas, Marcy Drogin and Arnon Milchan. The Sentinel is written by George Nolfi and Gerald Petievich and it is directed by Clark Johnson. 20th Century Fox acquired the distribution rights for the film. The Sentinel was released on 20th April 2006 and takes a screen time of 108 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. The Sentinel was made on a budget of $60 million and it was a hit at box office gross of $78 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by George Nolfi. Cinematography was done by Gabriel Beristain and editing by Cindy Mollo. The music was composed by Christophe Beck.
