The movie is based on The Dark Is Rising Sequence by Susan Cooper. Walden Media was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Marc Platt. The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising is written by John Hodge and Susan Cooper and it is directed by David L. Cunningham. 20th Century Fox acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture.
