The Secret Garden is a 1993 English-language Drama Family movie starring Kate Maberly, Heydon Prowse, Andrew Knott, Maggie Smith, Laura Crossley, John Lynch and Coz Greenop. The movie is based on The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. A young British girl born and raised in India loses her neglectful parents in an earthquake. She is returned to England to live at her uncle s estate.. American Zoetrope in association with Warner Bros. Family Entertainment. were the production houses involved in the project. The Secret Garden is written by Frances Hodgson Burnett and Caroline Thompson and it is directed by Agnieszka Holland. Warner Bros. Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. The Secret Garden was released on 13th August 1993 and takes a screen time of 102 minutes. The movie made a box office gross of $31 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Caroline Thompson. Cinematography was done by Roger Deakins and Jerzy Zielinski and editing by Isabelle Lorente. The music was composed by Zbigniew Preisner.
