A handicapped farmer and his adopted child lead an isolated life on their farm, which becomes more mysterious when a local teenager becomes obsessed with finding a red house in the dangerous woods and discovers secrets about the farmers past. The Red House is a 1947 American English-language Drama Film-Noir movie featuring Edward G. Robinson, Lon Mccallister, Judith Anderson, Rory Calhoun, Allene Roberts, Julie London and Moira Shearer. The movie is inspired from The Red House by George Agnew Chamberlain. Sol Lesser Productions in association with Thaila Productions. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Sol Lesser. The movie is directed by Michael Powell and Delmer Daves. United Artists acquired the distribution rights for the movie. The Red House was released on 15th March 1947 and takes a screen time of 100 minutes. The Red House was made on a budget of $30 million and at the box office it grossed only $1 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Delmer Daves. Cinematography was done by Bert Glennon and editing by Merrill G. White. The music was composed by Mikl S R Zsa.
