A police officer named Wong teams up with his partner to investigate a series of crimes involving gangsters and drug smuggling, eventually leading to a showdown with the main antagonist and saving the kidnapped girl. The Protector is a 1985 Cantonese-language Action Crime film starring Jackie Chan, Danny Aiello, Roy Chiao, Moon Lee, Peter Yang, Sandy Alexander and Ming Yeung. The Protector was Produced by David Chan, Shek Hong-chan, Raymond Chow and Leonard Ho. The Protector is written by James Glickenhaus and Edward Tang and it is directed by James Glickenhaus. Golden Harvest acquired the distribution rights for the film. The Protector was released on 15th June 1985 and takes a screen time of 91 minutes. The film made a box office gross of $11 million. Cinematography was done by Chang Yao-chu, Mark Irwin, Johnny Koo, Jimmy Leung, Ardy Lam and Gary Hoh and editing by Yao Chung-chang, Evan A. Lottman, Barbara Minor and Peter Cheung. The music was composed by Ken Thorne.
