An aging detective becomes determined to find the killer of a murdered child, but faces doubt from his colleagues as he investigates similar unsolved cases, befriends a waitress and her daughter, and grows suspicious of a pastor, eventually staging a sting operation, unaware that the actual killer has died. The movie is inspired from The Pledge by Friedrich D rrenmatt. The Pledge was Produced by Sean Penn, Michael Fitzgerald and Elie Samaha. The movie is directed by Sean Penn. Warner Bros. Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. The Pledge was released on 1st August 2021 and takes a screen time of 123 minutes. The Pledge was made on a budget of $35 million and at the box office it grossed only $29 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Jerzy Kromolowski and Mary Olson-Kromolowski. Cinematography was done by Chris Menges and editing by Jay Lash Cassidy. The music was composed by Klaus Badelt along with Hans Zimmer.
