Following a break-in, murder, and suspicious circumstances at a company, detective Virgil Tibbs investigates drug dealing connections but faces obstacles, including being taken off the case, ultimately leading to the arrest of some criminals, but the leaders evade justice, leaving Tibbs feeling partially victorious yet ultimately unsatisfied. The Organization is a 1971 American English-language Action Crime film featuring Sidney Poitier, Barbara Mcnair, Gerald S. O loughlin, Sheree North, Fred Beir, Allen Garfield and Ganga Narayana Das. Mirisch Productions in association with Inc. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Walter Mirisch. The Organization is written by James R. Webb, John Ball and James Webb and it is directed by Don Medford. United Artists acquired the distribution rights for the film. The Organization was released on 19th October 1971 and takes a screen time of 106 minutes. Cinematography was done by Joseph Biroc and editing by Ferris Webster. The music was composed by Gil Melle.
