In 1920s Vienna, Mary is gifted a nutcracker doll that comes to life and reveals he is a prince, prompting her to join him in a mission to save his kingdom from the Rat King and Queen, facing challenges and ultimately restoring peace with the help of her brother and friend. The Nutcracker in 3D is a 2010 English-language Action Family film featuring Elle Fanning, Nathan Lane, Frances De La Tour, John Turturro, Richard E. Grant, Julia Vysotskaya and Greg Brummel. The movie is based on The Nutcracker by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and The Nutcracker and the Mouse King by E. T. A. Hoffmann. HCC Media Group in association with Nutcracker Holdings, Russian Roulette Ltd. and Vnesheconombank. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Andrei Konchalovsky and Paul Lowin. The movie is directed by Andrei Konchalovsky. G2 Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. The Nutcracker in 3D was released on 29th November 2010 and takes a screen time of 110 minutes. The Nutcracker in 3D was made on a budget of $90 million and at the box office it grossed only $17 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Andrei Konchalovsky and Chris Solimine. Cinematography was done by Mike Southon and editing by Mathieu B langer and Andrew Glen. The music was composed by Eduard Artemyev.
