In a nursing home, an elderly man named Duke reads a love story to a female patient with dementia, where a poor worker named Noah falls in love with an heiress named Allie, their relationship is tested by societal disapproval but they eventually reunite before passing away together. The movie is based on The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. Gran Via was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Lynn Harris and Mark Johnson. The Notebook is written by Jeremy Leven, Jan Sardi and Nicholas Sparks and it is directed by Nick Cassavetes. New Line Cinema acquired the distribution rights for the film. The Notebook was released on 4th October 2017 and takes a screen time of 124 minutes. The Notebook was made on a budget of $29 million and at the box office it grossed only $3 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Jeremy Leven. Cinematography was done by Robert Fraisse and editing by Alan Heim. The music was composed by Aaron Zigman.
