A skilled hostage negotiator becomes the prime suspect in a corruption case and takes hostages in order to prove his innocence, forming an alliance with another negotiator to uncover a corrupt scheme and ultimately exposing the guilty officers and clearing his name. The Negotiator is a 1998 American English-language Action Crime motion picture featuring Samuel L. Jackson, Kevin Spacey, David Morse, Ron Rifkin, John Spencer, J. T. Walsh and S. Lamar Wilson. Regency Enterprises in association with Mandeville Films, New Regency and Taurus Films. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) David Hoberman and Arnon Milchan. The Negotiator is written by James Demonaco and Kevin Fox and it is directed by F. Gary Gray. Warner Bros. acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. The Negotiator was released on 8th October 1998 and takes a screen time of 139 minutes. The Negotiator was made on a budget of $50 million and at the box office it grossed only $44 million. Cinematography was done by Russell Carpenter and editing by Christian Wagner. The music was composed by Graeme Revell.
