A woman named May, who defies societal expectations and pursues her passion for drawing after her husband dies, faces tension with her son and daughter-in-law when she begins a sexual relationship with her daughters boyfriend, leading to a series of events that ultimately causes her to leave everyone behind and start a new life. The Mother is a 2003 English-language Drama Romance movie featuring Anne Reid, Daniel Craig, Steven Mackintosh, Cathryn Bradshaw, Oliver Ford Davies, Anna Wilson-jones and Zelda Tinska. BBC Films was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Kevin Loader. The Mother is written by Hanif Kureishi and directed by Roger Michell. Momentum Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. The Mother was released on 9th October 2003 and takes a screen time of 112 minutes.
