Small-town policeman Ma Shan wakes up one morning to discover that his gun is missing. During his search, things take a sinister turn when his first love turns up dead and the bullet appears to be from his gun. The Missing Gun is a 2002 Chinese Mandarin-language Crime Drama motion picture starring Jiang Wen, Ning Jing, Wu Yujuan, Gang Deng, Nina Huang Fan, Xiaoning Liu and Pan Yong. The Missing Gun was Produced by Wang Zhonglei. The Missing Gun is written by Chuan Lu, Lu Chuan and Based On A Novelette By Fan Yiping and it is directed by Chuan Lu and Lu Chuan. China Film Group Corporation acquired the distribution rights for the movie. The Missing Gun was released on 31st October 2002 and takes a screen time of 87 min.

      Oddly enough, its because of that the movie is as watchable as it is; its fairly clear that The Missing Gun wouldve been deathly dull if not for Lus hyperactive visual sense.At the films core is a mystery that isnt intriguing, primarily due to the fact that we really dont care whether or not Shan exonerates himself.
