The movie is based on Guantanamo Diary by Mohamedou Ould Salahi. The Mauritanian was Produced by Benedict Cumberbatch, Adam Ackland, Michael Bronner, Leah Clarke, Christine Holder, Mark Holder, Beatriz Levin, Lloyd Levin and Branwen Prestwood-smith. The movie is directed by Kevin Macdonald. STXfilms acquired the distribution rights for the movie. The movie has a running time of 129 minutes.
