In a medieval Italian village, a Satanic prince orders the village burned, abducts three people and holds them prisoner, while a personified Red Death infects the villagers and ultimately kills the prince. The Masque of the Red Death is a 1964 English-language Horror movie featuring Vincent Price, Hazel Court, Jane Asher, David Weston, Nigel Green, Patrick Magee and Selina Wylie. The movie is based on The Masque of the Red Death Hop-Frog by Edgar Allan Poe. Alta Vista Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Roger Corman and George Willoughby. The movie is directed by Roger Corman. Anglo-Amalgamated acquired the distribution rights for the movie. The Masque of the Red Death was released on 30th October 1964 and takes a screen time of 90 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. The screenplay for the movie was written by Charles Beaumont and R. Wright Campbell. Cinematography was done by Nicolas Roeg and editing by Ann Chegwidden. The music was composed by David Lee.
