Zorro fights against a corrupt governor and later mentors Alejandro to become the new Zorro to take down Montero and Love and stop their plan to buy California from General Santa Anna. The Mask of Zorro is a 1998 American English-language Action Adventure film starring Antonio Banderas, Anthony Hopkins, Catherine Zeta-jones, Stuart Wilson, Matt Letscher, José María De Tavira and Taso N. Stavrakis. The movie is based on Zorro by Johnston McCulley. TriStar Pictures in association with Amblin Entertainment, Zorro Productions and MacDonald/Parkes Productions. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Doug Claybourne and David Foster. The Mask of Zorro is written by Johnston Mcculley, Ted Elliott, Terry Rossio, Randall Jahnson and John Eskow and it is directed by Martin Campbell. Sony Pictures Releasing acquired the distribution rights for the film. The Mask of Zorro was released on 17th July 1998 and takes a screen time of 137 minutes.
