An 11-year-old boy, Leo, dreams of becoming a WWE wrestler with the help of his grandmother, and after finding a wrestling mask that gives him super strength, he confronts his bullies, auditions for a competition, becomes famous but loses his friends, realizes his mistake, wins the competition despite a fake mask, passes on the contract to his competitor, receives a 50,000 check, and joins his school wrestling team with increased confidence, wrestling his bully with support from his father. The Main Event is a 2020 American English-language Action Comedy film featuring Seth Carr, Tichina Arnold, Ken Marino, Aryan Simhadri, Momona Tamada, Glen Gordon and Beth Phoenix. WWE Studios was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Richard Lowell. The movie is directed by Jay Karas. Netflix acquired the distribution rights for the movie. The Main Event was released on 10th April 2020 and takes a screen time of 101 minutes. The motion picture made a box office gross of $42 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Larry Postel, Jim Mahoney, Zach Lewis and Peter Hoare. Cinematography was done by Karsten Gopinath and editing by Dan Schalk. The music was composed by Rupert Parkes.
