A former NFL quarterback is sent to prison where he forms a team of inmates to play against the prison guards football team, facing obstacles and sabotage, but ultimately leading his team to victory while exposing the corruption of the prison warden. The movie is based on The Longest Yard by Albert S. Ruddy. Paramount Pictures in association with Columbia Pictures, MTV Films, Happy Madison Productions and Callahan Filmworks. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Jack Giarraputo. The Longest Yard is written by Albert S. Ruddy, Tracy Keenan Wynn and Sheldon Turner and it is directed by Peter Segal. Paramount Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. The Longest Yard was released on 8th September 2005 and takes a screen time of 113 minutes. The Longest Yard was made on a budget of $82 million and at the box office it grossed only $43 million.
