The Mask of Zorro is about Alejandro Murrieta, now known as Don Alejandro De La Vega, who foils a plot to steal voting ballots, but loses his mask during the fight, is blackmailed by Pinkerton agents, and fights against a secret society that plans to destroy the United States while reconciling with his wife Elena. The Legend of Zorro is a 2005 American English-language Action Adventure movie featuring Antonio Banderascatherine Zeta-jonesrufus Sewellnick Chinlund, Alberto Reyes, Julio Oscar Mechoso, Gustavo Sánchez Parra, Adrian Alonso, Nick Chinlund and Michel Bos. The movie is based on Zorro by Johnston McCulley. Columbia Pictures in association with Amblin Entertainment, Spyglass Entertainment and Parkes/MacDonald Productions. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Walter F. Parkeslaurie Macdonaldlloyd Phillips. The Legend of Zorro is written by Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, Ted Elliott, Terry Rossio and Johnston Mcculley and it is directed by Martin Campbell. Sony Pictures Releasing acquired the distribution rights for the film. The Legend of Zorro was released on 27th October 2005 and takes a screen time of 130 minutes. The Legend of Zorro was made on a budget of $95 million and at the box office it grossed only $5 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Roberto OrciAlex Kurtzman. Cinematography was done by Phil Meheux and editing by Stuart Baird. The music was composed by James Horner.
