In 1951, a group of high schoolers come of age in a bleak, isolated, atrophied West Texas town that is slowly dying, both culturally and economically. The Last Picture Show is a 1971 American English-language Drama movie featuring Timothy Bottoms, Jeff Bridges, Ellen Burstyn, Ben Johnson, Cloris Leachman, Cybill Shepherd and Peter Bogdanovich. The movie is inspired from The Last Picture Show 1966 novel by Larry McMurtry. BBS Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Stephen J. Friedman. The Last Picture Show is written by Larry Mcmurtry and Peter Bogdanovich and it is directed by Peter Bogdanovich. Columbia Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture.
