A former race car driver restores his car in a post-apocalyptic America to drive to Free California, facing government opposition and seeking refuge in abandoned gas stations along the way. Argosy Films in association with Gene Slott Productions and Canadian Film Development Corporation. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Martyn Burke and Fran Rosati. The movie is directed by Martyn Burke. Crown International Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. The Last Chase was released on 10th April 1981 and takes a screen time of 101 minutes. The Last Chase was made on a budget of $72 million and at the box office it grossed only $27 million.
