Aung San Suu Kyi, daughter of Burmas independence leader, witnessed the suffering of her people under a brutal government, leading her to become an advocate for political change, winning elections but enduring over a decade of house arrest before being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. The Lady is a 2011 English-language Biography Drama movie featuring Michelle Yeoh, David Thewlis, Jonathan Woodhouse, Jonathan Raggett, Markus Waldow, Susan Wooldridge and Aurore Pariente. EuropaCorp in association with Left Bank Pictures and France 2 Cin ma. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Virginie Besson-silla, Andy Harries and Jean Todt. The Lady is written by Rebecca Frayn and directed by Luc Besson. EuropaCorp acquired the distribution rights for the film. The Lady was released on 1st March 2012 and takes a screen time of 135 minutes. The Lady was made on a budget of €22 million and at the box office it grossed only $7 million. Cinematography was done by Thierry Arbogast and editing by Julien Rey. The music was composed by Ric Serra along with Sade.
