A boy named Dre moves to Beijing, where he befriends Meiying but faces bullying from her close friend Cheng; however, he is saved by Dres mothers friend, Mr. Han, who teaches him Kung Fu and guides him to find inner strength, leading to Dres redemption and acceptance from Meiyings father. The Karate Kid is a 2010 English-language Action Drama film featuring Jackie Chan, Jaden Smith, Taraji P. Henson, Wenwen Han, Rongguang Yu, Zhensu Wu and Mohan Kapoor. Columbia Pictures was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Jerry Weintraub, Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, James Lassiter and Ken Stovitz. The Karate Kid is written by Christopher Murphey and Robert Mark Kamen and it is directed by Harald Zwart. Sony Pictures Releasing acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. The Karate Kid was released on 11th June 2010 and takes a screen time of 140 minutes. The Karate Kid was made on a budget of $40 million and at the box office it grossed only $2 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Christopher Murphey. Cinematography was done by Roger Pratt and editing by Joel Negron. The music was composed by Academy Award Oscar winner James Horner.
