The Island is a 2005 American English-language Action Adventure motion picture starring Ewan Mcgregor, Scarlett Johansson, Djimon Hounsou, Sean Bean, Michael Clarke Duncan, Steve Buscemi and Laura Tatham. The Island was Produced by Michael Bay, Ian Bryce and Walter Parkes. The Island is written by Caspian Tredwell Owen, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci and it is directed by Michael Bay. DreamWorks Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. The Island was released on 21st July 2005 and takes a screen time of 136 minutes. The Island was made on a budget of $22 million and at the box office it grossed only $2 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Caspian Tredwell-Owen. Cinematography was done by Mauro Fiore and editing by Paul Rubell, Christian Wagner, :, Roger Barton, John Murray and Tom Muldoon. The music was composed by Steve Jablonsky.
