When a nobleman is threatened by a family curse on his newly inherited estate, detective Sherlock Holmes is hired to investigate. The Hound of the Baskervilles is a 1959 English-language Horror Mystery movie featuring Peter Cushing, Andr Morell, Christopher Lee, Marla Landi, David Oxley, André Morell and Ian Hewitson. The movie is inspired from The Hound of the Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Hammer Film Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Anthony Hinds. The Hound of the Baskervilles is written by Arthur Conan Doyle and Peter Bryan and it is directed by Terence Fisher. United Artists acquired the distribution rights for the film. The Hound of the Baskervilles was released on 4th May 1959 in English and Spanish languages and takes a screen time of 87 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. The screenplay for the movie was written by Peter Bryan. Cinematography was done by Jack Asher and editing by Alfred Cox. The music was composed by James Bernard.
