A puppet detective investigates a series of murders targeting former cast members of a sitcom, suspecting a blackmail scheme, and ultimately uncovers that the blackmailer seeks revenge for a past incident involving the accidental shooting of his innocent puppet father by the detective. The Happytime Murders is a 2018 American English-language Action Comedy film featuring Melissa Mccarthy, Bill Barretta, Joel Mchale, Maya Rudolph, Leslie David Baker, Elizabeth Banks and Chris Spinelli. STX Films in association with H. Brothers, Black Bear Pictures, TMP, Henson Alternative and On the Day Productions. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Ben Falcone, Melissa Mccarthy, Brian Henson and Jeffrey Hayes. The movie is directed by Brian Henson. STX Entertainment acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture.
