The movie is based on The Prone Gunman by Jean-Patrick Manchette. The Gunman was Produced by Joel Silver, Sean Penn, Adrian Guerra, Peter Mcaleese and Andrew Rona. The Gunman is written by Jean-patrick Manchette, Don Macpherson, Pete Travis and Sean Penn and it is directed by Pierre Morel. Open Road Films acquired the distribution rights for the movie. The Gunman was released on 9th April 2015 and takes a screen time of 115 minutes. The Gunman was made on a budget of $40 million and at the box office it grossed only $24 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Don Macpherson, Pete Travis and Sean Penn. Cinematography was done by Flavio Martinez Labiano and editing by Fr d ric Thoraval. The music was composed by Marco Beltrami.
