A high school swim champion with a troubled past enrolls in the U.S. Coast Guard s A School, where legendary rescue swimmer Ben Randall teaches him some hard lessons about loss, love, and self-sacrifice. The Guardian is a 2006 American English-language Action Adventure motion picture starring Kevin Costner, Ashton Kutcher, Neal Mcdonough, Melissa Sagemiller, Clancy Brown, Sela Ward and Trevor Wolf. Touchstone Pictures in association with Beacon Communications and Flash Film Works. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Armyan Bernstein, Lowell D. Blank, Zanne Devine and Beau Flynn. The Guardian is written by Ron L. Brinkerhoff and directed by Andrew Davis. Buena Vista Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. The Guardian was released on 26th October 2006 and takes a screen time of 139 minutes. The Guardian was made on a budget of $70 million and at the box office it grossed only $13 million. Cinematography was done by Stephen St. John and editing by Thomas J. Nordberg and Dennis Virkler. The music was composed by Trevor Rabin along with Bryan Adams.
