In a Louisiana assisted-living home, a retired man named Paul gets emotional while watching a movie and recounts his experiences as a prison supervisor on death row, where he forms a bond with a supernatural prisoner named John Coffey who is wrongly accused of a crime, leading to a gruesome execution and tragic events in the present day.
