The Great Passage

A major publishing company Genbu Shobo has moved ahead with a publish plan of a new Japanese dictionary named Daitokai. A young sales staff in Genbu Shobo, Mitsuya Majime is poor at expressing himself, and he loves books. A veteran lexicographer Araki finds out that he has a natural facility for the Japanese language, and headhunts him to the Lexicographical Department. So Majime become a highly competent lexicographer over time. The Great Passage is a 2018 Japanese Japanese-language Animation Drama film starring Ryuhei Matsuda, Aoi Miyazaki, Joe Odagiri, Kaoru Kobayashi, Go Kato, Takahiro Sakurai and Mari Yokô. The movie is inspired from The Great Passage by Shion Miura. Filmmakers in association with Little More Co. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Tomoo Tsuchii, Kimitaka Goka, Fumitsugu Ikeda and Yasuyuki Iwanami. The Great Passage is written by Kansaku Watanabe and directed by Yuya Ishii. Shochiku acquired the distribution rights for the movie. The film has a running time of 133 minutes. Cinematography was done by Junichi Fujisawa and editing by Shinichi Fushima. The music was composed by Takashi Watanabe.
