The Four Feathers is a 2002 English-language Adventure Drama film written by A.e.w. Mason, Michael Schiffer and Hossein Amini. The movie is directed by Shekhar Kapur and produced by Paul Feldsher, Robert Jaffe, Stanley R. Jaffe and Marty Katz. Set during the British Army s Gordon Relief Expedition in Sudan, it tells the story of a young man accused of cowardice. The four feathers stars Heath Ledger in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Wes Bentley, Djimon Hounsou, Kate Hudson, Mohamed Bouich, Campbell Brown and Daniel Caltagirone. The screenplay is written by Michael Schiffer and Hossein Amini which is inspired from The Four Feathers 1902 novel by A. E. W. Mason. The music was composed by James Horner. Cinematography was done by Robert Richardson and editing by Steven Rosenblum. The motion picture has a running time of 130-125 minutes. The Four Feathers was made on a budget of $35 million and at the box office it grossed only $29 million. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by Paramount Pictures.
