In 1980, an aircraft carrier called the Nimitz encounters a powerful storm that transports them back in time to the day before Pearl Harbor, leading to a dilemma for the crew as they debate altering history. The Final Countdown is a 1980 American English-language Action Sci-Fi movie featuring Kirk Douglas, Martin Sheen, Katharine Ross, James Farentino, Ron O neal, Charles Durning and Gregg Kubu. Bryna Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Peter Vincent Douglas and Lloyd Kaufman. The Final Countdown is written by Thomas Hunter, Peter Powell, David Ambrose and Gerry Davis and it is directed by Don Taylor. United Artists acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. The Final Countdown was released on 30th May 1980 and takes a screen time of 103 minutes. The Final Countdown was made on a budget of $12 million and at the box office it grossed only $3 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by David Ambrose, Gerry Davis, Thomas Hunter and Peter Powell. Cinematography was done by Victor J. Kemper and editing by Robert K. Lambert. The music was composed by John Scott.
