Micky Ward, a boxer managed by his mother and trained by his crack-addicted half-brother Dicky, faces multiple defeats before finding success with a new team and ultimately winning the welterweight title, reconciling with Dicky in the process. The Fighter was Produced by David Hoberman, Dorothy Aufiero, Todd Lieberman, Ryan Kavanaugh, Paul Tamasy and Mark Wahlberg. The Fighter is written by Scott Silver, Paul Tamasy, Eric Johnson and Keith Dorrington and it is directed by David N. Russell and David O. Russell. Paramount Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. The Fighter was released on 1st July 2009 and takes a screen time of 116 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. The Fighter was made on a budget of $25 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $129 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Paul Tamasy, Eric Johnson and Scott Silver. Cinematography was done by Hoyte van Hoytema and editing by Pamela Martin. The music was composed by Michael Brook. At the 2011 Oscar Awards It won 2 awards including: Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role (Christian Bale) and Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role (Melissa Leo).
