A high school student in Atlanta discovers she is considered the less popular person in her friend group and forms a deal with the captain of the football team to improve their social status, but her plans are disrupted by a viral video and she learns that her crush has been using her, leading her to confront him and find the captain kissing her rival, but in the end, she reconciles with her true friends and delivers a speech about embracing ones own identity, with the captain rejecting the homecoming title to be with her. The Duff is a 2015 American English-language Comedy Romance film starring Mae Whitman, Robbie Amell, Bella Thorne, Bianca Santos, Skyler Samuels, Romany Malco and Grady Sims. The movie is based on The DUFF by Kody Keplinger. Vast Entertainment in association with CBS Films and Wonderland Sound and Vision. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Susan Cartsonis, Mcg and Mary Viola. The Duff is written by Josh A. Cagan and Kody Keplinger and it is directed by Ari Sandel. Lionsgate acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. The Duff was released on 4th October 2015 and takes a screen time of 101 minutes. The Film was successful at box office.
