Sharad Nerulkar has devoted his life to becoming an Indian classical music vocalist, diligently following the traditions and discipline of old masters, his guru, and his father. The Disciple is a 2020 Indian Marathi-language Drama film featuring Aditya Modak, Arun Dravid, Sumitra Bhave, Deepika Bhide Bhagwat, Kiran Yadnyopavit, Abhishek Kale and Ashwini Kulkarni. Zoo Entertainment was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Vivek Gomber. The film is written and directed by Chaitanya Tamhane. Netflix acquired the distribution rights for the film. The Disciple was released on 30th April 2020 and takes a screen time of 127 minutes. Cinematography was done by Micha Soboci ski and editing by Chaitanya Tamhane. The music was composed by Aneesh Pradhan. At the 2020 Venice Film Festival It won an award for Best Screenplay.
