The Dead End

Maya, a film star, a diva, has reached a personal deadlock in life. She has n it all done it all but a black hole of emptiness engulfs her entire being. She tries to commit suicide but ends up alive and caught in a strange but beautiful journey, which oscillates between reality and fantasy. On this wonderland trip she meets different characters, who enhance her outlook, give variety to her experience and make this external exploration trip a journey of self-discovery. First she meets a living man who believes he is dead due to suffering from Cotard delusion, then a religious man who is sure about the superiority of his way, and an outlaw claiming to know the real truth. With the living man claiming to be dead she experiences a spectrum of previously unknown emotions and feelings. She puts her existence on stake to make this man alive again and discover new horizons. The Dead End is a 2016 Chinese English-language Adventure Drama film starring Deng Chao, Duan Yihong, Guo Tao, Wang Luodan, Saidah Jules, Aditya Om and Shielly Shukla. The movie is inspired from Sunspot by Xu Yigua. Dream Sky Film in association with Bona Film Group and Beijing Standard Image Culture Communication. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Ye Jinjun and Cao Baoping. The movie is directed by Aditya Om and Cao Baoping. The Dead End was released on 1st July 2016 and takes a screen time of 137-227 minutes. The motion picture made a box office gross of $47 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Cao Baoping and Mia Jiao. Cinematography was done by Luo Pan and editing by Cao Baoping and Li Yongyi. The music was composed by Bai Shui.
