After a meteor shower causes blindness and the spread of animated triffid plants, a small group of survivors, led by Bill Masen and including Tom and Karen Goodwin, must find safety and neutralize the plants to survive. The Day of the Triffids is a 1963 English-language Horror Sci-Fi movie featuring Howard Keel, Nicole Maurey, Janette Scott, Kieron Moore, Mervyn Johns, Ewan Roberts and Fred Wood. Security Pictures Ltd was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) George Pitcher, Philip Yordan and Bernard Glasser. The Day of the Triffids is written by Bernard Gordon and Philip Yordan and it is directed by Steve Sekely and Freddie Francis. Rank Organisation acquired the distribution rights for the film. The Day of the Triffids was released on 25th April 1963 and takes a screen time of 93 min. Cinematography was done by Ted Moore and editing by Spencer Reeve. The music was composed by Ron Goodwin along with Johnny Douglas.
