The Cross and the Switchblade is a drama film based on the true story of a preacher who connects with troubled teens in a crime-ridden neighborhood and leads to the creation of Teen Challenge. The Cross and the Switchblade is a 1970 English-language Biography Crime motion picture starring Pat Boone, Erik Estrada, Jacqueline Giroux, Jo-ann Robinson, Dino De Filippi, Dino Defilippi and Mark Hall. The movie is based on The Cross and the Switchblade by David Wilkerson with John and Elizabeth Sherrill. QED Productions in association with Dick Ross and Associates. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Ken Curtis, Tom Harris and Dick Ross. The movie is directed by Don Murray. Gateway Films acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. The Cross and the Switchblade was released on 31st May 1970 and takes a screen time of 106 min. The screenplay for the movie was written by Don Murray and James Bonnet. Cinematography was done by Julian C. Townsend and editing by Angelo Ross. The music was composed by Ralph Carmichael.
