After the Civil War, lawyer Frederick Aiken defends Mary Surratt, who is accused of being part of a conspiracy to assassinate President Lincoln, but despite finding evidence that Marys son was the main conspirator, she is found guilty and sentenced to hang, leading Aiken to pursue a career in journalism. The Conspirator is a 2011 American English-language Crime Drama movie starring James Mcavoy, Robin Wright, Kevin Kline, Evan Rachel Wood, Danny Huston, Justin Long and Grant Henley. American Film Company in association with Wildwood Enterprises and Inc. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Robert Redford, Brian Falk, Bill Holderman, Greg Shapiro and Robert Stone. The Conspirator is written by James D. Solomon and Gregory Bernstein and it is directed by Robert Redford. Lionsgate acquired the distribution rights for the movie. The Conspirator was released on 6th October 2011 and takes a screen time of 123 minutes. The Conspirator was made on a budget of $25 million and at the box office it grossed only $15 million.
