The Color Purple is a 1985 American English-language Drama film starring Danny Glover, Whoopi Goldberg, Margaret Avery, Oprah Winfrey, Willard E. Pugh, Akosua Busia and Madison T. Shockley Sr. Amblin Entertainment was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Steven Spielberg, Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Quincy Jones. Warner Bros. acquired the distribution rights for the movie. The Color Purple was released on 18th December 1985. The Film was successful at box office. The Color Purple was made on a budget of $15 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $98 million. The music was composed by Quincy Jones.
