About young British journalist, George Hogg, who with the assistance of a courageous Australian nurse, saves a group of orphaned children during the Japanese occupation of China in 1937. The Children of Huang Shi is a 2008 English-language Drama War film starring Jonathan Rhys-meyers, Radha Mitchell, Chow Yun-fat, Michelle Yeoh, Guang Li, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Hong Bin Zhang. Screen Australia in association with Ming Productions, Zero West Filmproduktion, Cheerland Entertainment and Bluewater Pictures. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Arthur Cohn, Wieland Schulz-keil and Jonathon Shteinman. The Children of Huang Shi is written by Jane Hawksley, James Macmanus and Simon Van Der Borgh and it is directed by Roger Spottiswoode. Hyde Park Entertainment acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. The Children of Huang Shi was released on 10th April 2008 in English,Chinese and Japanese languages and takes a screen time of 125 minutes. The Children of Huang Shi was made on a budget of $40 million and at the box office it grossed only $7 million. Cinematography was done by Zhao Xiaoding and editing by Geoffrey Lamb. The music was composed by David Hirschfelder.
