Two men journey on a river to find ones uncle and end up joining an expedition to trade with a Native American tribe, but things get complicated. The Big Sky is a 1952 American English-language Drama Western film featuring Kirk Douglas, Dewey Martin, Elizabeth Threatt, Arthur Hunnicutt, Buddy Baer, Steven Geray and Louise Worden. The movie is based on The Big Sky 1949 novel by A.B. Guthrie Jr. Winchester Pictures Corporation was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Howard Hawks. The movie is directed by Howard Hawks. RKO Radio Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. The Big Sky was released on 24th October 1952 and takes a screen time of 122 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. The movie made a box office gross of $17 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Dudley Nichols. Cinematography was done by Russell Harlan and editing by Christian Nyby.
