The Banquet

The Emperor and the Assassin is a historical drama that follows Wu Luan, a Crown Prince in love with a noblewoman, who is deeply hurt when his father decides to marry her, leading him to flee and pursue music and dance, while his father is murdered by his brother, leaving Wu Luan seeking revenge and trying to untangle the tension in the Imperial Court. The Banquet is a 2006 Chinese Mandarin-language film starring Zhang Ziyi, Ge You, Daniel Wu, Zhou Xun and Huang Xiaoming. The Banquet was Produced by John Chong and Yuen Wo Ping. The Banquet is written by Qiu Gangjian and Sheng Heyu and it is directed by Feng Xiaogang. Huayi Brothers acquired the distribution rights for the movie. The Banquet was released on 29th August 2006 and takes a screen time of 130 minutes. The Banquet was made on a budget of ¥127 million. Cinematography was done by Zhang Li. The music was composed by Tan Dun.
