A puppet cop turned private investigator teams up with his former partner to solve a series of murders targeting cast members of a popular sitcom, leading them to uncover a plot to frame the investigator and ultimately bring the culprits to justice. The App is a 2019 American English-language Drama Sci-Fi movie starring Melissa Mccarthy, Bill Barretta, Joel Mchale, Maya Rudolph, Leslie David Baker, Elizabeth Banks and Maya Sansa. STX Films in association with H. Brothers, Black Bear Pictures, TMP, Henson Alternative and On the Day Productions. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Brian Henson, Jeffrey Hayes, Melissa Mccarthy and Ben Falcone. The movie is directed by Brian Henson. STX Entertainment acquired the distribution rights for the film. The App was released on 26th December 2019 and takes a screen time of 91 minutes. The App was made on a budget of $40 million and at the box office it grossed only $27 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Todd Berger. Cinematography was done by Mitchell Amundsen and editing by Brian Olds. The music was composed by Christopher Lennertz.
