Bert Marcus Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Bert Marcus and Cassandra Thornton. The film is written and directed by Bert Marcus. Netflix acquired the distribution rights for the film. The American Meme was released on 7th December 2018 and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. Cinematography was done by Will Dearborn and Abraham Martinez and editing by Tchavdar Georgiev and Monique Zavistovski. The music was composed by Tyler Strickland.
