The American is a 2010 American English-language Crime Drama movie starring George Clooney, Violante Placido, Thekla Reuten, Paolo Bonacelli, Irina Björklund, Lars Hjelm and Patrizio Pelizzi. The movie is inspired from A Very Private Gentleman by Martin Booth. This is that in association with Smoke House Pictures. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) George Clooney, Anne Carey, Jill Green, Ann Wingate and Grant Heslov. The American is written by Rowan Joffe and Martin Booth and it is directed by Anton Corbijn. Focus Features acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. The American was released on 14th October 2010 in English and Italian languages and takes a screen time of 105 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. The American was made on a budget of $20 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $67 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Rowan Joff. Cinematography was done by Martin Ruhe and editing by Andrew Hulme. The music was composed by Herbert Grönemeyer along with Herbert Gr Nemeyer.
