A British captain assumes the identity of a fascist member to complete a dangerous undercover mission to steal the formula for a new Nazi poison gas and sabotage a chemical plant in Czechoslovakia, but is forced to denounce and sacrifice the life of a woman before ultimately succeeding in demolishing the plant and proposing to his love interest. The Adventures of Tartu is a 1943 English-language Drama Romance film starring Robert Donat, Valerie Hobson, Walter Rilla, Glynis Johns, Phyllis Morris, Martin Miller and Bryan Herbert. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer British Studios was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Irving Asher. The Adventures of Tartu is written by John C. Higgins and directed by Harold S. Bucquet. Loew s Inc. acquired the distribution rights for the film.
